question

Last night I discovered the show Girl Code on MTV. It's a shame I've been discovering all these great shows lately since this is my last week with cable. BUT I DIGRESS.

I don't know if you've seen Girl Code, but it's basically a bunch of comedians giving their view on different topics and how girls see things. It's hilarious. But last night, one quote stuck out to me more than the others.

One girl said "If you weren't ugly in middle school, I don't trust you." I mean....can I get an amen?

And if this is the case, does this make me the most trustworthy person on earth?  Because....yikes...

  6. hahaha. I burned my middle school pictures. They were atrocious. And really, they didn't get better until Junior year of high school.

mtv.com has most of their shows online. And hulu carries a bunch of them as well. All is not lost.

  7. just a couple days ago, I was talking to my mom about how ugly I was back in jr. high. And she was all, "You were not UGLY!" And I was like, "Yeah mom, the stage were I lost all four of my top teeth at the same time AND you started letting me do my own hair?? It was bad." She still thought I was adorable and in the end I settled the argument with, "You were blinded by your Mother's Love."

I agree with this lady 100%.
Though, I think it's unfortunate when your looks peak in middle school/high school.

  10. I love that show, it's so ridiculous. And it's so true - you miss out on a lot of important life lessons or something if you are beautiful in middle school. At least that's what I tell myself.

  12. Man, we could have been twins in middle school. I don't know if it's physically possible to look good in middle school. Except, wait, one of my little sisters has, I swear, been gorgeous at every stage of her life. I don't understand. She's only 16 now. Maybe when she grows up, by comparison her middle school age pictures will seem really awkward and ugly. But that's just 1 out of 6 sisters. Too bad for the rest of us.

  13. Never heard of that show but yeah... pretty people in middle school are just wrong. Less ugly than others? Sure but not pretty lol

  14. I've never heard of that show! But omg. I shudder when I look back at my middle school pictures. Those were some awkward years for sure.

  15. I thought you were missing an arm in the first picture, but just from the elbow down. Totally love that quote. Makes sense.

Best of luck with life minus cable. It's been over a year for us and I am still managing just fine.
