next thing you know I'll be driving a minivan

It may not be Mother's Day anymore, but I just gave myself the best Mother's Day gift around.

I QUIT MY JOB.

I'm unemployed! Sort of. My new boss is a little more demanding, but at least she lets me work in my pajamas.

So there we have it. I'm officially a stay-at-home-mom. This is so weird and wonderful. It's what I dreamed of since I was little. It's something I knew was hopefully on the horizon, and here it is! There's a sleeping baby next to me, and I don't have to do anything but take care of her. It was hard to leave a job I mostly loved and all my coworkers and my salary, but I can't imagine anyone else taking care of my little girl. It's worth all the sacrifices in the world.

Now to find myself a minivan...

....kidding! Not in a million years.

  3. Congratulations!!! (is this something to congratulate you for? It feels like it) I'm so happy you're able to do what you've always dreamed of doing.

Are you hiring? Do you need a daytime assistant while James is at work? I'm willing to relocate, now that Jeni's has reopened.

  5. Wonderful! If you are up for it sometime, you should check out a moms' group like MOPS. I've met some great friends that way!

  6. Woo! Congratulations on the career change.

I think you should take advantage of your only child and get a family sports car. Or a mini! Take that cool mom status to the max.

I also think you and Gracie should have matching turbans.

  7. Yay! I love being a SAHM, even though some days it sucks lol. But I'm glad I can be there for our kids, every day.

And hey... I hated on the minivan, and now I have one, and I will never go back. I LOVE IT.

  10. If you ever get a minivan I don't know if we can be friends. That's why God made SUVs, people.

  11. Congrats! Basically sounds like the best job ever, to me!

We're going to buy a car when we move and my mom is all like "Are you sure you don't want a van?" because they have a boat of an 8-seater Toyota but no, I'm sure. We'll probably be getting an affordable little hatchback and just dealing with stuffing a carseat in it when that hopefully soon day comes.

  15. But! If you get a minivan I'll get a mom haircut. Never mind. That wouldn't even be worth it. But really: congratulations!!!
